Not Where You Want To Be In Life? Here’s What To Do

A lot of people aren’t where they want to be in life – so if you feel like you’re on the wrong path, you’re not alone. The fact is, many people will ignore this feeling of dissatisfaction purely because they are making money and living a reasonably comfortable life. They don’t want to get out of their comfort zone, or challenge themselves, or potentially risk losing the mediocre life that they have created for themselves.

If you know that you’re not where you want to be in life, it’s time to stop letting fear hold you back. It’s time to do something about it! Here’s what to do…

Figure Out Where You Want To Be

Start by thinking about where you really want to be. You don’t have to figure out the how yet – just think about where. How do you want to feel? What do you want to be doing? What do you want to look like? Get to the specifics of where you want to be and do your best to embody what that will feel like as often as possible. If you can trick your brain into believing that you are already the person who is in your visualization for the future, you are more likely to get there!

Try Out Some Of The Things You Find Yourself Thinking About Regularly

Perhaps you think about doing a certain course, or taking up a certain hobby. Don’t ignore these feelings and inklings. They are usually there for a reason! Whether you want to take an online msw degree or go to a painting workshop, try it. Trying new things will help you to find what you are passionate about. At the very least, you might learn what you don’t like or want in your future.

Save Up An Emergency Fund

More money means more freedom, pure and simple. By saving up an emergency fund, you have the freedom to job hunt and try new things for as long as it takes you to find what you really want to do. Having 6 months living expenses will help to give you peace of mind!

Ask Yourself The Right Questions

Make sure you ask yourself the right questions so you can really identify what it is you want to be doing. Some ideas can be found below:

  • What would you do if you didn’t have to worry about people judging you?
  • What would you do if money wasn’t an object?
  • What could you talk about all day?
  • What makes you the happiest?
  • What are some of your biggest accomplishments so far?
  • If there were absolutely no limits in life, what would you do?
  • Who do you admire most in the world?

Know That Your Daily Habits Add Up To Your Life

The things you do every day are the sum of your life. If you snooze your alarm, don’t work on your personal development, eat junk, and live a sedentary life, eventually you’re going to be unhealthy and unhappy (if you’re not already). Changing your daily habits can make a huge difference and give you the habits you need to succeed!
