Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass or rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel. For a slightly sweeter drink, add a dash of agave syrup (one part water, two parts agave nectar) before shaking.
Coat the rim of a rocks glass with salt, fill with ice and set aside. In a shaker, muddle the agave nectar or simple syrup, red pepper flakes and chile powder. Add the tequila, Grand Marnier and lime juice. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Strain through a tea strainer into the prepared glass. Garnish with a jalapeño or red chile pepper.
