by Stuart Brazell

Calling all fellow LA Foodie, Wine, Beer and Cocktail Lovers!

Cancel all your previous plans and spend as much time as humanly possible at the 5th Annual Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival aka my personal paradise.  The event kicks off this Thursday evening and runs through Sunday with amazing events around the clock! Here are 3 events that are absolutely not to be missed:

Lexus Avenue Grand Night Market

Do yourself a favor and arrive HUNGRY and right on time at 7pm!  The Friday Night Market will feature an abundance of unique tastings using seasonally inspired ingredients from some of the nation’s most influential chefs hosted by Celebrity Chef Tyler Florence. This event is a truly multi-sensory street food experience that brings the flavors of night markets from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur to Grand Avenue! Serving up traditional as well as interpretive street grub from both established restaurants and mom-and-pop joints, the Night Market recreates the celebratory chaos and delicious energy of the quintessential Night Market experience with a distinct West Coast flavor. Along with tastings of street food from over 30 participating restaurants and eateries, admission includes custom cocktails, sake, beer and free-flowing wine.  Last year I could not get enough of Chef Andre Bienvenu’s duck sandwich from Joe’s Stone Crab.

Asian Night Market

Lexus LIVE on Grand Featuring the Roots

What a way to spend your Saturday night! Get wine and dined at this unbelievable strolling reception with an out of this world musical performance by The Roots! An exceptional evening starring 30 chefs and 100 wineries serving up delicious tastings for you to enjoy while enjoying the Cityscapes of one of the greatest cities in the world.  You will go Instagram crazy this evening!  Be sure to use hashtag #lafoodwine  Last year I fell in love all over again with Common … he is so sexy!  If you can’t tell by this picture of me and my girls captivated in the audience.

Lexus presents Ultimate Bites of L.A. Hosted by Chef Curtis Stone featuring DJ set by Mike D.

Get your weekend started early this Thursday!  Lexus presents an evening that brings together chefs from Downtown, Westside, Hollywood and MidCity/Beverly Hills – to participate in the “Ultimate Bites of LA” walk-around tasting event that is hosted by Celebrity Chef Curtis Stone of Maude Restaurant. You will have the opportunity to sample dishes from several of the city’s most exciting culinary neighborhoods while listening to the music of DJ Mike D.  I even made a video to give you a feel for the awesomeness of the evening – watch here:

Treat yo’self to an awesome seminar and boost your education!

Last year I had the BEST time at Pairing Cheese & Champagne with the First Lady of Fromage and Junk Food & Killer Wines! Honestly, discussing and tasting what wine goes best with pork rinds? Yes please!  Here is one that is on my radar this year:

Beer & Bites Seminar  Saturday 8/29, 4:30-5:45pm:

Beer is the world’s most widely consumed alcoholic beverage and is the third-most popular drink overall, after water and tea. Surprised? Come on, this is America!  The food pairings  for this seminar will be masterfully prepared by Belgian-born Master Chef Daniel Joly of Mirabelle Restaurant. Chef Joly is one of only Belgian Master Chefs currently working in the United States and a Member of Euro toques Ambassador USA. Master Chef Joly is also a brand ambassador for the Belgian beer, Stella Artois, and traveled to host popular cooking demonstrations and seminars for the brand. So who else is in?

Get your tix here!! And please say hello if you see me floating around … I’ll surely be in a good mood :)
