As I’m sure you’ve been seeing on social media, today is Women’s Equality Day!
On August 26th, 1920 the United States government accorded women the right to vote. Each year, the President of the United States designates August 26th as Women’s Equality Day to commemorate this landmark decision.
This most definitely is a day to celebrate, but we are still fighting for equal rights.
It is so important for us to stand together and lift one another up! I’m also excited that Focus Features has made a film sharing this important piece of our history. The moving and powerful SUFFRAGETTE shines a light on women who risked everything for the right to vote, in early-20th century Britain. The cast includes Academy Award nominees Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter and three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep. The female filmmaking team includes producers Alison Owen (an Academy Award nominee) and Faye Ward (a Golden Globe Award nominee), Emmy Award-winning writer Abi Morgan, and BAFTA Award-winning director Sarah Gavron.
What an incredible group of women working together both in front of the camera and behind the scenes to share this story! So stand tall and shine bright today – we all can do it!

Stuart Brazell has talent, brains and beauty as distinctive as her name. She’s a fab, fierce, femme who always speaks her mind whether in person or online (just ask her husband). The social butterfly knows how to work a room and dress for every occasion. Equally comfortable on a red carpet or at a yoga retreat, she’s the sassy southern belle who friends call when in need of advice or just plain fun.
