Girl Power Book Club: Reads To Get This Summer

Girl PowerLifestyle

Happy May, book lovers! There’s nothing I love more than a great book, so I figured that for this month’s book club I would give you all some amazing options to dig into once the weather starts getting a little hotter and calls for the beach, lemonade and a good bookish day!

Below are my top 3 picks for current books you need to read now or to pick up in June, many from one of our favorite publishing house, Harper Collins! Happy reading, ladies

“Sunday’s On The Phone To Monday” By Christine Reilly

Sundays book

In this family-centered novel, Claudio and Mathilde Simone, once romantic bohemians hopelessly enamored with each other, find themselves nestled in domesticity in New York, running a struggling vinyl record store and parenting three daughters as best they can: Natasha, an overachieving prodigy; sensitive Lucy, with her debilitating heart condition; and Carly, adopted from China and quietly fixated on her true origins, according to the book synopsis. This is one that will tug at your heartstrings and that I highly recommend readers to pick up!

“Winning” By Lara Deloza

In this book, Alexandra has a goal, you see—Homecoming Queen. Her ambitions are far grander than her small town will allow, but homecoming is just the first step to achieving total domination. So when peppy, popular Erin Hewett moves to town and seems to have a real shot at the crown, Alexandra has to take action. With the help of her trusted friend Sam, she devises her most devious plot yet. She’ll introduce an unexpected third competitor in the mix, one whose meteoric rise—and devastating fall—will destroy Erin’s chances once and for all. Alexandra can run a scheme like this in her sleep. What could possibly go wrong, says the book synopsis? You all need to find out in this amazing, fast-paced read that will have you hoping for a great finish.

“Ivory and Bone” By Julie Eshbaugh

Ivory and Bone

In this novel, hunting, gathering, and keeping his family safe—that’s the life seventeen-year-old Kol knows. Then bold, enigmatic Mya arrives from the south with her family, and Kol is captivated. He wants her to like and trust him, but any hopes of impressing her are ruined when he makes a careless—and nearly grave—mistake. However, there’s something more to Mya’s cool disdain…a history wrought with loss that comes to light when another clan arrives. With them is Lo, an enemy from Mya’s past who Mya swears has ulterior motives, according to the book synopsis. It’s an edge-of-your seat ride that will have you wanting more once the book comes to an end.
