A Look Into The Life Of Nasty Gal’s Sophia Amoruso

“There are secret opportunities hidden inside every failure.”
― Sophia Amoruso, #GIRLBOSS

A decline in the business of Vintage Clothing Brand Nasty Gal has forced founder Sophia Amoruso aka author of New York Best Selling book #Girlboss to step down from the role of CEO in 2015.

Amorsuo continues to mention that she enjoyed the creative aspect of her business but, not the day to day business operation.

A year later the company was still in crisis and was forced to file for bankruptcy and is rumored to file again in 2017. Amoruso said, “Filing for bankruptcy was the most responsible decision for the business.”

But, what went wrong? Forbes said, “… the startup had been unable to secure capital or a buyer as the gap between top-line growth and profitability widened.” This rate was a downfall for her brand because she couldn’t keep up.

Even with financial struggles, Amoruso continues to move forward like a #girlboss and not look back. She created a multimillion dollar empire from the ground up and no hater can take that away from her.

-In 2016, she had a 92.4% compound annual growth and she rose to the top of the e-commerce Internet Retailer’s Top 500 guide. Despite her financial woes she has continued to move forward.

“Bad bitches are taking over the world.”
― Sophia Amoruso, #GIRLBOSS

I’d like to believe that she thought about her own words when she was creating her business. After reading Amoruso’s book #GIRLBOSS, I was fascinated and inspired by her personal philosophy. And her personality is part badass, cool edgy girl with her own Vintage style and way of life.

In GirlBoss The Netflix series, which was entertaining and a fantastic insight into her life, I personally found it to be fresh and a real portrayal of Sophia and her success as founder of Nasty Gal.

Not to disappoint anyone but it has been canceled after its first season. Basically, she kicks ass every damn day! There is no denying that.

I learned a lot in her book and I think that any woman should look to her for advice on how to start a business. As well as a look at insight into the millennial generation and the struggles and possibilities we face.
