Sending props to Serena Williams who at the ripe young age of thirty just won her fifth Wimbledon Title! In her post match interview when asked if thirty is the new twenty, her reply … ”Oh my god, of course.”
With this victory, Serena Williams becomes the first woman past her 30th bday to win a major title in 22 years. Go Girl! Way to bring it! The last woman to do so was Martina Navratilova in 1990 when she captured her ninth Wimbledon crown at the age 33.
Serena has had a rough couple of years suffering through many injuries, but she was absolutely beaming after her win joking ”I’ve always wanted what Venus has.” And now Venus and Serena have combined for 10 of the last 13 Wimbledon singles titles. Talk about sister power! Best of luck in your doubles match!
