Are You Ready for Some ‘Magic’?
by Jennifer Whalen

OK ladies, who is ready for the coming-of-age story of a young entrepreneur who takes a young, budding business associate under his wing all while trying to balance the trials and tribulations of romancing the woman of his dreams?

Wait … Let me start that again.

Who is ready to see Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer and Matt Bomer do a little dance, make a little love and pretty much get down tonight in front of millions of screaming, smiling women?

Me! Me! Me! And to be honest, I’m not sure what the big appeal is. Is it the chance to go out with your friends to the movies and have permission to act like you’re at a strip club? (I wonder if it’s in 3-D…) Sure, it’s pure eye candy, but the storyline helps. Who am I kidding? That’s like saying people still read Playboy for the articles nowadays. Decide for yourself. Watch the movie trailer!

Channing Tatum serves up two roles in this movie: one as “Magic Mike” himself and the other as a producer. In fact, the movie was inspired by Tatum’s earlier work as a stripper before he made it in Hollywood. No wonder his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, looks so happy all the time!

Personally, I’m more intrigued to see Matthew McConaughey in this film. I feel like it’s a role he was born to play, using that Southern charm and good looks to every woman’s benefit. He even pulled off the porn-stache in Dazed and Confused! “Alright, alright, alright…”

So grab your girlfriends, your gay friends, heck—even your boyfriends or husbands (they can learn a trick or two) and view the wondrous display of Magic Mike, which opens in theaters June 29. Prepare to have your socks knocked off—and maybe a few other articles of clothing, too.

Until next time…
