New Girl Expo LA’s guide to holiday gift giving

Beauty + FashionDirt of the DayLifestyle

I was lucky enough to attend The New Girl Expo in downtown LA this past Saturday. It was a lot like walking into a shop-a-holic’s dream. There was a little bit of everything in a wide range of styles and selections. For someone like me who prefers small boutiques on Melrose rather than malls like the Beverly Center, I was overwhelmed by all the merchandise at first. So, I decided to get the lay of the land and map out what was being sold and shown section by section. New Girl Expo was held at The Reef in downtown, and had everything from goods to purchase, to Moroccan oil hair blow outs, style lounge, complimentary drinks, and even popular YouTuber panels. As I browsed through the event space I realized this was the ultimate holiday shopping, one stop shop! Thats when I decided to put my holiday gift guide radar on and find the best possible gifts for you to give your friends without breaking the bank. Below you’ll find that I’ve curated my top 3 products to gift this year.

I couldn’t help but do a double take when I passed VooDoo Wix. As a self proclaimed candle freak, I know a thing or two about great candles. Imagine my surprise when not only did I catch the tantalizing scents of Fig, Cucumber Melon, and Vanilla Tobacco, but noticed the candles changed colors. I did a double take and back tracked to ask some questions. Turns out all of VooDoo Wix candles are hand poured in a very savvy lady’s home. Each candle is equipped with an led light that is light activated. When you light your candle of choice you can relax as tones of sunset, or  rainbow light up your room. There are also more basic led designs but there is something so soothing and serene about taking a bath as a candle radiates sunset colors from it’s base. While you’re hard at work purchasing goods for your friends, don’t forget to snag one for yourself here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/VoodooWix

My next must give present this year are the Bon Bliss bath and body treats. Created by a husband and wife duo this bath scrub is jam packed with vitamin e and avocado oil, among other natural ingredients. All of the scrubs are hand rolled, and made in small batches to insure the highest quality results. The bath scrubs are so adorable they’re shaped like little candies and available in over a dozen different scents. What I loved most about the scrubs was the feeling of intense moisture left over after you scrub. No time for lotions? This is your perfect solution. So if you have a girlfriend (or guy friend) whose always on the go and is in need of some skin TLC this is the product for them! I tried the mango scent at new girl expo and my hands felt smooth and well moisturized for at least 6 hours after trying their products. They certainly have a fan in me. Bon Bliss is available in over 220 spas nationwide, or you can purchase directly from their website: www.bonblissbeauty.com

Finally one of my favorite discoveries at New Girl Expo was Vi Ling Designs. Vivian Au has been in the jewelry industry for close to a decade now, and only recently has she branched out to create her own designs. Let me say I couldn’t be happier, and so should you. Vivian focuses on creating dainty, timeless pieces that will last. Each piece is designed and crafted by hand here in Los Angeles. This is the perfect gift (fellas I’m looking at you) to give your girlfriends. However, I love giving my best friends jewelry around the holidays and their birthdays, as well as my grandmother. So these can make for a perfect keepsake to mark an incredible year. All of Vi Ling design’s are 100% sterling silver and the gold pieces have gold fill, which means you will never have tarnished skin, or allergic reactions for those of you with copper and nickel sensitivities. Truly a win win. Make sure you treat yourself and those you love this year by visiting her site: www.vilingdesigns.com
