Hey, Party Girl! Looking for new ways — yet again — to refresh and renew your party look? If I may say, you’re doing the right thing reading through these tips. Ready to accomplish the unthinkable? Let us take you through your next smashing party face.
We’ll let you in on one of the top beauty secrets of the most buzzing “It” girls in town: party looks are among the most enjoyable beauty adventures you can treat yourself to. Parties, depending what kind of function, of course, give us the freedom to be somebody else other than our 8 to 5 everyday selves.
Below are top makeup tricks you should try the next time you feel like mingling, dancing and drinking with the crowd:
Make sure to start off with a clean and well-treated canvas. By doing so, you can make sure that your makeup won’t slip on grease. Also, that your colors will glide over your skin, make blending easy, and stick more steadily hours after your self-painting session is done and over.
In the morning, because you’re often rushing, a single stroke eyebrow is common, and people are forgiving because most people apply the same trick to themselves everyday as well. For a party, you want to make your eyebrows extra special by giving it a 3D effect. That means, you’ll do yourself a favor by learning how Kim Kardashian does hers with at least three colors in various textures.
First, start by putting a dry matte concealer over your eyebrows. This will ensure that your eyebrows won’t be out of place no matter how hard you end up partying. Second, draw an outline using the lightest nude shade of pencil eyebrows in your stash. Third, draw a slim line from the middle towards the outer corner of your eyebrows using your liquid or gel eyebrow liner. Fourth, use a spooley brush eyebrow liner in one shade lighter to draw tiny hair-like lines over your brows. Fifth, use a pencil eyebrow in the same shade to fill in from the middle towards the inner corner of your eye. Do the same steps for the other side.
If the idea is to get major party attention, don’t settle for a thin eyeliner on the top and bottom of your eyelids. Set up yourself for more drama. To pull off one of the most useful makeup tricks to ace your party look, start by treating your eyelids with a dry, matte concealer, once again to keep your makeup from slipping.
Now, onto your colors. First, you need to figure out what color you prefer to use first. Sure, it can be the usual black cat eye but, a powder blue or a sea green eyeliner could also add more fantasy to your look. Either way, that depends on your outfit and the overall look you’re going for. Try cat eye or triple parallel eyeliners for a change: one each on your top and bottom lids, and another across your eye fold. All three lines can either meet on the corner or, never meet at all.
Add depth to your eyes by layering with at least two shades or, go bold with a daring single color. Get the glam on with glitters and gemstones. Keep these in place using cosmetic glue.
Seriously grow and thicken those eyelashes to remind yourself and people around you that you came to party! When it comes to seriously thick eyelashes, a mascara simply won’t cut it. Put on your falsies. If you’re wearing stones and glitters, bring the fantasy over to your eyelids too.
Party makeup tricks will never be complete without the perfect pout to match. There really are no rules. When you’re partying, there’s no need to keep your lips dull when you have bold colors elsewhere.
Brush sparkles all over your face, neck and chest. How about body glitters? If the situation calls for it, we say ‘why not?’
When all the colors start to fade later in the night, keep in mind what Marilyn Monroe said, “Beneath the makeup and behind the smile I am just a girl who wishes for the world.”
