5 Biggest Hair Trends for 2020

Beauty + Fashion

It’s common knowledge that trends change rapidly, and anyone who tries keeping up with every single one will very soon run out of patience and money. While keeping up with trends in the world of fashion and beauty poses a huge challenge even for professionals, it would be a good idea to keep track of the biggest trends. Not only will staying in touch with these trends give you an advantage when you’re buying clothes, but you will easily pick out what works best for you. Get ready to learn all about the biggest hair trends for 2020.

Bangs, bangs, bangs

You know what they say, when in doubt whether or not to get bangs – just don’t. On the other hand, it looks like 2020 is all about bangs: long bangs, micro bangs, asymmetrical bangs; you name it! For those who want bangs but don’t want to go all the way, you can take a page out of Dua Lipa’s book and copy her floating-over-the-eyebrow look. Her bangs are square yet flirty and serious at the same time, and what is more, the length will allow you to experiment with different looks: blow them out so they’re smooth or piece them out, to give them that soft and choppy look.

Long, wavy layers

Speaking of streaks around your face, this year it’s all about layers. Lovely beach waves with playful streaks around your face will give your hairstyle more texture without you actually having to sacrifice the length. Because beach waves have been so popular for the past few seasons, you can achieve a lot more fullness if you use wavy clip in hair extensions. Luckily, with so many options out there, you won’t have trouble finding the color and the style that match your own. This way, you can keep the look and the feel of ‘big hair’ and get that “wow” effect with ease.

The money piece

This hairstyle was famous years ago, and it’s slowly coming back: the ‘money piece’! It involves highlighting the streaks around your face and dyeing them a brighter color than the rest of your hair. It will frame your face beautifully and lift your overall complexion. What is more, even though they draw attention to your face, these lighter streaks actually make your hair color pop and stand out even more. As they grow, you don’t have to bother with their upkeep or maintenance, as they will grow out softly. We have seen celebrities rocking this look, and in the upcoming season, it’s sure to be a big hit.

Long live the ‘60s

“What goes around comes around,” or so they say, and when it comes to retro hairstyles, the saying rings true for sure. The old flip hair from the ’60s is making a comeback, and the new ‘flip’ hairstyle certainly brings a lot to the table. While it’s still as sculptural as its predecessors, at the same time, it’s a bit more relaxed. Also, the ends are not as flipped as they used to be, which is a relief as it takes less time and effort. Much like with the original version, you have to wash your hair and have a clean scalp, as this makes it easier to handle your hair and direct it up towards the crown.

Long asymmetrical bobs

The lob is going to be all the rage this year, and for a good reason. Long bobs are perfect because they allow you to keep your hair clean, healthy and treated with proper products and style it easily while still giving you plenty of length to work with. It doesn’t matter if you like to wear your hair down or up, the long bob is perfect because it provides enough texture and fullness for both. If you’re comfortable with drastic changes, you can wear it chin-length or even just below the ear.

Even though it can be a challenge keeping up with all the changes in the world of makeup, hairstyles, and fashion, it’s always a good idea to keep an eye out for the biggest trends. This way, not only will you be able to keep your look on point at all times, you will also be able to adapt these trends and make them work for you. You don’t have to follow trends without question; what is more, it’s better if you are able to look them with a critical eye and only embrace those that compliment you.
